Dayton High student wins Entrepreneurial Spirit Essay contest
The Adams Hub for Innovation in partnership with NV Production House sponsored a Entrepreneurial Spirit Essay Contest open to juniors and seniors attending Carson, Dayton, Douglas and Pioneer high schools.
Lucas Buchanan, a senior at Dayton High, won first place.
Second place was Gustavao Villalobas and third place was Jasmine Soriano.
Students submitted their essay on the topic, “Promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship as a career choice in a post-COVID environment; why is it essential that young people change their mindset toward self-employment?”
“One of the tenets of the Adams Hub for Innovation is youth support; our young people tend to have fresh mindsets and a lot of energy. Youth entrepreneurs may be particularly responsive to the new economic opportunities and trends,” Mike Smith, director of business development for NV Production House, said in a news release.
Winners were announced during the Adams Hub for Innovation Networking group session Dec. 2. Prizes included gift cards and a certificate of excellence.
